Verbs express activity, possibilities and conditions of a person, thing or animal. They tell us what is happening and where.
Types of verbs
There are 5 types of verbs: Transitive verbs, Intransitive verbs, Link verbs, Auxiliary verbs, Modal verbs

Verb tenses
When using verbs, we must know how and when to use the different tenses.
English has 12 tenses:
Simple past | Past continuous | Past perfect | Past perfect continuous |
Simple present | Present continuous | Present perfect | Present perfect continuous |
Simple future | Future continuous | Future perfect | Future perfect continuous |
When using tenses, you must know if the verb is regular or irregular.
- Regular verbs are those whose past simple and past participle are formed by simply adding –ed

- Irregular verbs are those whose past simple and past participle are formed in different ways, not by adding –ed
